No love for Daddy!

So as Ava is giving Mommy a great big hug Daddy tries to get in on the hug too, 
She pushes him away and says, "This is not a group hug!"

Is Jesus really a shepherd?

So as we are reading our Mommy and Me Bible before bedtime the other evening,
I read about Jesus being our shepherd and taking care of his sheep.
  Ava says, "Hey Little Bo Peep takes care of the sheep!!!"

What I want to be when I grow up.

When the AC repair man was installing our new air conditioner in the basement, Ava said she wanted to help  him.  I said why do want to help him? She replied, "I want to do that when I get big and be a snake and a clown so I can make people happy!"

So providing comfort and entertainment could make people happy but the snake part kind of baffles me!!!

Jesus made me!

So I say to Ava, "How'd you get so pretty?"
She says, " Cuz I did!"
I say, "Who made you so pretty?"
She replied, "Jesus did!"

You outta be in pictures!

So my 14 year old son's best friend says to Ava,
"You are so pretty Ava.  You look like you could be in a movie!"
Ava replies, "Well Mommy says I can't watch movies all day!"

Bossy britches!

Paul & I were having a heated discussion while Ava was coloring with him.
She comes walking toward me with her hands in the air & states emphatically
"Mommy ok, ok that's enough! You don't have to keep saying it over & over! 
Stop being ignorant (which she pronounces ignert) to Daddy.
 He's trying to color with me!"

Well she told me! 
Then I busted out laughing & she says, "Stop laughing!  It's not funny!"
Of course we had a little talk about how to talk to mommy.

Early bloomer!

So a package arives the other day from Grandma Jean
 with new clothes & a couple of swimsuits. 
Ava pulls out a bikini top & proudly tells her daddy
 "Look it's a bra for me!"

Food snob!

So Paul made an easy dinner from Costco consisting of fish (halibut) & chips (sweet potato fries)
 then Ava who usually tries any food we present her with
 says after one bite "Yuck!  I want some good food!"

Love & marriage

Ava tells Daddy when he tries to kiss Mommy
"Hey back away away from my wife!"
Daddy say, "That's my wife! She's your mommy".
Ava replies, "Well I want to marry Mommy!"

Jingle Bells Parody

So Christmas 2009 Ava really loved the Jingle Bells song & sang it all the time.
One day Jan 2010 while getting her diaper changed she decided to grab some well you know the really gross stuff!
I held her hands away and said "Ava no! Yuck you have poopy hands!"
She began her rendition of "Poopy hands, poopy hands, poopy all the way!  Oh what fun poopy hands"

Then continued to sing while getting her hands thoroughly scrubbed clean!

Blessings....

So when praying the other day Ava thanked God for her blessings (as she always does) so I asked her what her blessings were just to be sure she knew what it meant.
Ava replied, "Julia & Lydia are my blessings cuz they are my best friends & they love me!"

Sure enough she gets what blessings really are = true friends that love you :)

Family resemblance

"So Ava do you think you look like Mommy?"
Ava says, "Yeah we both have vanilla hair!"
